Flood Relief Camps Treat 3,000 Patients!

The medical team focused their efforts on four regions: District Hafizabad, District Jhang, Noweshera and Mianwali. These all sit on major waterways that flooded severely, wreaking havoc on millions of lives. Cholera, dysentery, dehydration, malaria and a host of other illnesses are rife in the flooded areas.

Mohammed Younis and a team of three doctors supplied the best "No.1" drugs to everyone who attended the camps whether they were young, old, rich or poor. At a cost of over £14,000 this service was provided free-of-charge to the local people and was paid for entirely with the hospital's own funds.

The AHT is yet to fully pay for this effort and so desperately needs help and donations to cover its costs and ensure that the hospital itself continues to survive. Please visit the "Donate" page to help.

Flood Relief Camps Underway

Three of the AHT Doctors have now set up a flood relief camp in Nowshera in North West Pakistan. Although this area is a long way from the Alma Bi Hospital, it is one of the worst affected by the floods and so is in greatest need

The team will be providing free vaccinations and other medical treatment to the local population. It will also be dispensing health advice to minimise people's exposure to waterborne diseases such as cholera and dysentery.

AHT Doctors Prepare to Help Flood Victims

The AHT Doctors in Pakistan are organising a medical relief camp for flood victims who are currently cut off not too far from the hospital but who are not receiving any NGO or Government help at all.

The aim is to have a camp providing treatment and vaccinations for victims in that area. We are sending 3 Doctors who will provide the service 24 hrs a day in the camp which will be located in one of the unaccessible villages in the Punjab.

AHT at Ramadhan

Ramadhan (the fasting month) is a vital time for The Alma Hospital Trust. Much of its fundraising takes place during this period traditionally associated with generosity and giving. Mohammed Younis will be working extra hard this month, despite not being able to eat during the day.
