RAMADAN APPEAL 2023

We hope this Ramadhan finds you and your family in the best of health.

For over sixteen years the Alma Bi Hospital with your vital support has been delivering frontline services and free medical care into some of Pakistan’s most disadvantaged communities.

Over the last twelve months our staff team has delivered essential medical services to those in need in our communities and as well as supporting survivors of the floods that saw a third of Pakistan submerged and thirty million people affected. We have shared both our medical expertise and resources in support of these affected communities. Your Alma Bi Hospital continues to proudly support expectant mothers, the delivery of both eye and medical camps into neighbouring villages, offer health workshops and all to a standard that we can all be proud of.

PAKISTAN FLOODING SUPPORT

“Literally, one-third of Pakistan is underwater right now, which has exceeded every boundary, every norm we’ve seen in the past.” — Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s Minister of Climate Change.

In 2022 the Alma Bi Hospital and its dedicated staff team shared both its expertise and resources to support the climate emergency that had beset Pakistan. Officials estimate that more than 33 million Pakistanis - one in seven people - have been affected by the historic flooding.

Heavy rainfall from more than six weeks of torrential monsoon rain, had caused deadly flash floods across Pakistan. This has affected over 30 million people, washed away roads, and caused damage to 170,000 homes - people are forced to live in makeshift tents.

The Pakistan Government declared a state of National Emergency amid this devastation.

The effects of these floods continue to be felt by some of Pakistan’s most remote communities. Food scarcity, water and sanitation are daily challenges. Children are fighting against severe acute malnutrition, diarrhoea, malaria, dengue fever, typhoid, acute respiratory infections, and painful skin conditions.

With your continued support the Alma Bi Hospital has been committed to making a positive difference to the lives of these communities.

RAMADAN APPEAL 2022

We hope this Ramadhan finds you and your family in the best of health.

Now in existence for over 20 years, the Alma Hospital Trust continues to proudly support some of the most in-need communities in Pakistan. Medical services that we may take for granted in Western countries are hard fought for in Pakistan. Due to a lack of financial resources many treatable medical conditions in Pakistan result in death or life-changing complications for the patient. With your support, we are committed to reversing these tragic statistics by providing free medical treatment to those in need.
