COMMUNITY OUTREACH CAMP

Every year, the Alma Bi Hospital team organises free medical camps in the remote villages of Hafizabad. The main aim of the camps is to provide free check-ups and medicines to needy, disadvantaged patients who are unable to undergo medical treatment or travel to a hospital because of limited money and resources.

During one of our most recent camps, our team has treated hundreds of patients who needed urgent medical treatment, some of which were identified as needing surgery for inguinal hernia and gallstones. Many other patients were experiencing high blood pressure, heart problems, fever, high sugar levels, respiratory infections and many other mild diseases.

With your continued support, the Alma Bi Hospital team has been able to provide free medicines, consultations, blood sugar level checks, ultrasound scans and many more free medical services to those in need.

Over the months to come we intend to reach, help, and treat thousands more vulnerable people who are in desperate need of medical care. Together we can make a difference.

PAKISTAN FLOODING SUPPORT

“Literally, one-third of Pakistan is underwater right now, which has exceeded every boundary, every norm we’ve seen in the past.” — Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s Minister of Climate Change.

In 2022 the Alma Bi Hospital and its dedicated staff team shared both its expertise and resources to support the climate emergency that had beset Pakistan. Officials estimate that more than 33 million Pakistanis - one in seven people - have been affected by the historic flooding.

Heavy rainfall from more than six weeks of torrential monsoon rain, had caused deadly flash floods across Pakistan. This has affected over 30 million people, washed away roads, and caused damage to 170,000 homes - people are forced to live in makeshift tents.

The Pakistan Government declared a state of National Emergency amid this devastation.

The effects of these floods continue to be felt by some of Pakistan’s most remote communities. Food scarcity, water and sanitation are daily challenges. Children are fighting against severe acute malnutrition, diarrhoea, malaria, dengue fever, typhoid, acute respiratory infections, and painful skin conditions.

With your continued support the Alma Bi Hospital has been committed to making a positive difference to the lives of these communities.

RAMADAN APPEAL 2022

We hope this Ramadhan finds you and your family in the best of health.

Now in existence for over 20 years, the Alma Hospital Trust continues to proudly support some of the most in-need communities in Pakistan. Medical services that we may take for granted in Western countries are hard fought for in Pakistan. Due to a lack of financial resources many treatable medical conditions in Pakistan result in death or life-changing complications for the patient. With your support, we are committed to reversing these tragic statistics by providing free medical treatment to those in need.

FREE EYE CAMP 2021 - REVIEW

Our free annual eye camp took place again this year between 4th - 7th April 2021 at the Alma Bi Hospital in Hafizabad, Pakistan. Despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, our team of dedicated specialists treated over 100 patients for eye-related problems. 47 cataract operations were also carried out to restore the patients’ eyesight, with a 100% success rate.

Every year during our free eye camps, thousands of people visit the Alma Bi Hospital, many also viewing this event as an opportunity to receive free treatment for other ailments as well. Our on-site GPs always ensure everyone is tended to. During this period, a large number of patients are treated for dehydration, especially children and the elderly, and we carry out a large number of diagnostic tests, such as typhoid and hepatitis C.

Through the kindness and generosity of our donors, we have been able to continue to organise life-changing operations and provide free medical care to thousands of poor people throughout this unprecedented time.

During this holy month, you can do something amazing with your Zakat, Sadaqa or Fitr donations, knowing that every penny goes directly to the upkeep of a truly wonderful facility.

Thank you for your continuous support!
