Pakistan Filming March 2013

David Todman, one of the charity's trustees, recently spent a week at the Alma Bi Hospital documenting some of its activities on film. The trip was in research for an ambitious documentary project about rural life in Pakistan that David hopes to raise finance for later in the year. You can see a gallery of some of the still photographs he took during the visit at the link below:

March Eye Camp 2013

The hospital's annual eye camp has just finished and was the most successful ever! Here are just some of the figures:

  • In just 4 days surgeons restored sight to 205 cataract sufferers

  • 700 people suffering eye complaints were treated

  • 10,000 people visited the hospital, many suffering from general health problems that were treated.

These staggering statistics demonstrate just how important the hospital's work really is, being the only source of free healthcare for many thousands of citizens in surrounding areas.

House of Lords Fundraiser

Last Thursday we held a very special reception at The House of Lords in order to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Alma Bi Hospital. It was also an opportunity to celebrate some of the achievements of our biggest donors and fundraisers to date.

The River Room was completely packed with old and new friends. So many thanks to the generous people who attended. Thousand of pounds were raised on the night and we hope that it also helped broadcast the message of our hospital's amazing work.
