Clean Water - At Last!

In May, the Alma Bi Hospital finally installed a deep bore water pump and filtration system. It cost over £3,000 but is perhaps one of the most important investments made for the local community in recent times.

Most local people draw their water from shallow, unclean bore holes. This is cited as a major cause of illness in this area. By installing a deep bore pump, purifying water from 360 feet below ground, not only has the hospital ensured its own supply of certified drinking water, it's also provided external taps and drinking fountains for the whole community. As you can see from the photos below it's become an instant hit with the population!
