Annual Eye Camp 2016 - Review

This year's annual eye camp at the Alma Bi Hospital has taken place again this spring, between 12th - 15th March. In the 4-day period, over 10000 people attended the eye camp and 700 were treated for general eye-related problems. Our team of dedicated surgeons also carried out 228 cataract operations, all of which were a success.

In addition to our annual camp at the hospital, this year, with the support of our loyal supporters Shokat and Sadia Khan from Watford, UK, our team also organised a second event in their home village of Kotli Sattian, 30km North East of Islamabad.  During the 2-day period, between 25th - 26th March, over 4000 people attended the eye camp, out of which 500 were treated for eye-related problems, and 110 had successful cataract operations.

We would like to thank all those wonderful people who made donations and helped us to provide the precious gift of sight to those in desperate need.

EYE CAMP IN KOTLI SATTIAN

In addition to the annual eye camp, we will be carrying out an eye camp on 25th and 26th March in the vicinity of Kotli Sattian, which is located 30km north east of Islamabad.  Kotli Sattian is a large village town surrounded by many small villages in remote locations. Our founder Mohammed Younis assisted by Advocate Raja Nabil Ahmed Satti, who originates from the area will be organising the camp. The aim of the camp will be to treat the poor and elderly residents with eye ailments and to perform cataract surgery where possible. The Alma Hospital was approached by the people of Kotli Sattian to hold an eye camp which is being funded through the wonderful support and generosity of Sadia & Shokat Khan from the UK.

Your Generosity Changes Lives - Fatima's Story

To receive free medical care during our Annual Free Eye Camp back in March this year, eighty year old Mrs Ghulam Fatima attempted to walk the 9 mile journey to Alma Bi Hospital. Understandably, after 4 miles she felt she could not continue. Her journey resumed with the help of a kind hearted local man who drove her to the hospital. Within only 4 hours she had an eye operation done, that would not only be beneficial to Mrs Fatima, but also to her family and community.

Alhamdulillah, through the kindness of charitable local people and generosity of our donors, Alma Hospital Trust was able to organise for Mrs Fatima to have the operation required to regain her vision. During this holy month you can do something amazing with your Zakat, Sadaqa or Fitr donations, knowing that every penny goes directly to the upkeep of a truly wonderful facility.
